		<description>O happy day when you can call something done! I&#039;ve thrown out lots of pages when the ending I thought I wanted just didn&#039;t work.  It&#039;s like trying to squeeze into shoes that aren&#039;t yours.  Better to find something that fits.  Congrats to you, Julia!  Thanks for writing. Always good to hear from you.</description>

		<description>Interesting that you bring this up.  I just completed a WIP.  The ending was not what I anticipated from the beginning.  The characters sort of wrote their own ending.  And I liked it better than the ending I had originally planned.</description>

		<description>Can you address two theories I hear from writers on the process?

 First, John Irving says he can&#039;t write the story till he knows the ending line in his head.  

I hear many others say they write to find out what happens.

If it&#039;s your first novel, do you suggest the second theory is then better to follow than the first...?

The first thought gives me a headache, personally.  

Or is it genius, do you have to know where you want to end up, in order to chart the course?
